Please note that your included lab time will also start from the moment you redeem the voucher
No, there are no specific prerequisites for enrolling in our training. However, we recommend basic knowledge of cybersecurity and networking for a better understanding of the contents of the courses and for taking advantage of the technical content.
HackTricks Training courses are self-paced, allowing you to study and progress through the material at your own convenience and speed. This flexibility allows you to balance your learning with other commitments. Apprentice courses are designed to help you build strong foundations with a more approachable workload. Expert courses go deeper into advanced techniques, include more challenging labs, and require passing a final practical exam to obtain the certification. Please note that the Apprentice courses are a subset of the Expert courses
Yes. HackTricks Training courses are designed to be highly practical. In addition to videos, reading materials, and slides, you will work through hands-on laboratories where you can apply the techniques explained in the course.

The duration of our cybersecurity course varies depending on the specific course and the time commitment you can dedicate. However, since the course is self-paced, you have the freedom to adjust the pace according to your schedule. For ARTE (AWS Red Team Expert) we have estimated a workload of +70 hours, the same applies to the other expert courses. Apprentice courses on the other hand have an estimated workload of +35 hours.
When you enroll in HackTricks Training courses, you will gain access to our online learning platform, where you can track your progress and engage with the course content, that includes video recording of the courses, reading materials, slides and laboratories.

The cost of our cybersecurity training may vary depending on the specific course you choose, or any specific promotion or discount that we decide to apply. Please refer to our website for detailed pricing information. There are no hidden fees from our side. Please, note that your bank might apply fees for currency exchange.

Yes, we offer a refund policy for our cybersecurity courses and labs. If, for any reason, you change your mind about purchasing a voucher to access one of HackTricks Trainings, you may request a refund within 14 days from the date of purchase, provided that the voucher has not been redeemed and access to the digital content has not begun. Because our products are digital content delivered immediately after purchase, once a voucher has been redeemed or access has started, we are unable to offer a refund, in accordance with applicable consumer protection laws. Refunds, where applicable, are processed using the original payment method and typically take 5 to 10 business days, depending on the payment provider. If you purchase through our website, your voucher will be sent automatically once the payment process has been completed. If you request an invoice and pay by bank transfer, your voucher will be sent once our team has verified that the payment has reached our account.
In the case of vouchers for the course + 1st exam attempt, once you purchase the voucher, you have 2 years to redeem it. However, we're sure you will be excited to start our training as soon as possible! On vouchers for extra opportunities to take the exam, or extension of the access to the labs, you have two years to redeem the voucher.
Vouchers can be transferred to another person as long as they have not been redeemed yet. Once a voucher has been redeemed, it becomes linked to the account that redeemed it and cannot be transferred to another user. If you purchased a voucher for someone else, simply share the voucher code with them so they can redeem it from their own HackTricks Training account.
You will have access to the course for one year from the date you redeem your voucher, including any course updates released during that period. You will also have one year from voucher redemption to schedule your exam. Please note that lab access is limited to the laboratory time included with your course. Once that time has been used, you will need to purchase additional lab time to continue using the labs.
The Expert course voucher will grant you 60 days to complete the laboratories (on the expert course). The voucher for an Apprentice course will give you 30. However, you will be able to purchase laboratory extensions if you need them.
No, it's not. The access to the materials and the labs are activated both together when the voucher is redeemed.
Yes. Each course includes 10 lab walkthroughs to help you understand the expected methodology and approach. We do not provide walkthroughs for every lab because the goal of the training is to challenge students and ensure they develop the skills needed to solve labs independently. If you get stuck, you can use the HackTricks AI chat available on the platform to get guidance while solving labs.
For Expert courses, yes. To obtain the certification, you must pass a final practical exam that evaluates your understanding of the techniques, methodologies, and concepts covered throughout the course. Apprentice courses do not include a final exam. Instead, to obtain the certification, you must complete 100% of the required lab exercises.
The exam consists of solving laboratories and finding flags, having 12 hours to complete it. With the purchase of the course, you have 1 opportunity to take the exam. If you need further opportunities, there are exam vouchers available for purchase. In order to pass the exam and achieve the certification, you will need to solve all the challenges proposed. Exam vouchers can only be purchased after having acquired the course.
Yes, to be able to schedule an exam, you must have completed at least 60% of the laboratory exercises.
Yes. You can reschedule your exam up to 24 hours before the scheduled exam start time. If you need help rescheduling your exam, please do so as early as possible from the platform or contact us at training-support@hacktricks.xyz for assistance.
No, in order to pass the exam it's only needed to deliver the flags in time.
Yes, it's possible to buy exam retakes if you fail the exam.
Yes. You will continue to have access to the course materials after passing the exam, as long as your one-year course access period is still active. This allows you to revisit the content, refresh your knowledge, and reference the materials whenever needed during that period.
No. Downloading, sharing, copying, distributing, or reproducing course content is not permitted. All HackTricks Training courses and materials are protected by copyright and are provided for individual, personal use only. Course materials must be accessed through our online learning platform during your active access period. Sharing, distributing, or providing unauthorized access to course materials is strictly prohibited, as it compromises the integrity of our courses and infringes the intellectual property rights of HackTricks Training, our instructors, and content creators. If you distribute course materials or facilitate unauthorized access, you may lose access to the learning platform, be banned from HackTricks Training, and have any certifications previously issued by HackTricks Training invalidated.
It’s not possible to earn this certification simply by watching the videos and copying answers. To obtain the certifications, you must successfully complete hands-on practical labs and pass an exam (on expert courses) that evaluates your overall understanding of the pentesting and red teaming techniques covered throughout the course. While the training provides extensive learning resources, the labs are intentionally not fully guided. All core concepts, tools, and methodologies are explained in the video lessons and supplementary materials. However, detailed, step-by-step solutions for every lab exercise are not provided. This approach is deliberate: it encourages hands-on problem solving and ensures learners develop real technical understanding rather than following recipes. Although ample guidance and reference material are available, you are expected to actively apply what you’ve learned and demonstrate genuine comprehension in order to complete the labs and pass the certification.
